So my order came in the mail yesterday
Bennett Alligator wheels 62mm/81a
Khiro Barrel Bushings 90a
Jessup Griptape
My 'work-station'
I took appart my skateboard
Changed the bushings and wheels
And voila!
GRIPTAPE
First I made a stencil of my custom griptape, so I could paint on the backside of the griptape what I wanted to cut out.
I used some leftover graffiti to paint the design I made for the griptape.
After that I cut out the design and put it on the deck
That was actually pretty really hard to do because of some parts being really small and fragile, but I think it all worked out really well!
Thanks to sparkleisaid for all the advice he gave me on choosing my parts.
Here is his blog, CHECK IT OUT!
Your board looks awesome! What's it like to ride? I will probably follow in your steps and get the same gear as you. Do you also Bones Reds? Also, how are the bushings and new wheels? And do you think the size/softness was a good choice for you?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSorry for all the questions, I would really appreciate your advice :D
It's an awesome board and a lot of fun to ride, but it wasn't that good before the new setup.
VerwijderenYes I use Bones Reds. They are a really good choice, new bearings are the most important change you should do with this board. It makes it a thousand times better.
I haven't really used the bushings yet, because after I put them on I realized that my old bushings were already adjusted to how I ride my board, so I decided to put them back. The moment these bushings are unuseable I will put the khiro bushings back.
The wheels are great! You should see for yourself which duro would be best for you but I'm really happy with the 81a's. They are faster than the default wheels and I really like that. The board is perfect for going to class or work. Easy to put away and a lot of fun to ride!
